The Basics
What is Walk Run Wag?
Walk Run Wag is an annual chip-timed 5k run you can do with or without your dog. It’s also a two-mile walk for two-legs (you) and six-legs (you and your dog). Post-race activities include vendors, pet rescue organizations, adoptables, music, dog paw painting canvases, face painting for the kids, a hurling booth from the Milwaukee Hurling Club, and much more. There is an additional fee for some activities; other activity providers may request a donation. Food and beverages are available on-site for purchase.
When and where is Walk Run Wag?
Walk Run Wag 2019 is at 9:00am Saturday, July 13th at Hart Park, 7300 W. Chestnut St. in Wauwatosa.
How is the money raised for Walk Run Wag used?
Net proceeds from Walk Run Wag for MADACC support two goals:
- Reduce the number of animals taken in by MADACC through outreach, education and spay/neuter programs for the community
- Increase the number of animals available for adoption through facility improvements, enrichment and foster program support.

When does registration close?
Advance registration closes on July 11th at noon. Onsite registration will also be available, but shirts and shirt sizing will be limited.
How will I know my advance registration was processed?
You will receive a confirmation email when you register in advance.
Can we register to do the event as a team?
New in 2019, we are offering team options! To create a team during registration:
- Navigate to the Race Page of the race
- Click Sign Up to begin the registration process
- Enter in all participant information
- When selecting the event click Group/Team
- From the pop-up select Create New Group/Team
- Select a Group/Team Type
- Type in a Group/Team Name
- If prompted select a Group/Team Gender and Age Group
- If prompted you may create an Optional Group/Team Password
- Click Continue

When can I pick up my race packet?
You can pick up registration packets at MADACC (3839 West Burnham Street, West Milwaukee) between 2:00pm – 7:00pm on Friday, July 12, 2019 or beginning at 7:00am on race day, July 13, 2019.
I’ve registered but my plans have changed. Can I get a refund?
Your race entry is non-refundable. There are no refunds for canceled entries, nor can your race entry be deferred until next year. Walk Run Wag is a rain-or-shine event. Thanks for your understanding.

Day of the Event
What happens if it rains that day?
We get wet! Walk Run Wag is a rain-or-shine event. There are no refunds so bring your umbrella or rain gear!
Where can I park?
There will be plenty of street parking along State Street and on Honey Creek Parkway east of 69th Street.
Can I register on race day?
Registration will be available the day of the event from 7:00am-8:45am at Hart Park.
If I’ve already registered, can I pick up my race packet on race day?
Yes. You can pick up registration packets at MADACC (3839 West Burnham Street, West Milwaukee) between 2:00pm – 7:00pm on Friday, July 12, 2019 or beginning at 7:00am on race day, July 13, 2019.
What should I bring?
Bring sunscreen! Also good to bring: a camera and rain gear. We will have water for you and your pet. Plan on leaving valuables at home, as there is no gear check.
Can I bring my dog even if we’re not racing together?
All friendly dogs are welcome, but please consider whether your pet enjoys large public settings with noise, lots of other dogs and people. If you think it would be stressful for your dog, you should leave him/her home. We recommend that all dogs’ vaccinations be up to date. Friends of MADACC greatly encourages spaying or neutering your pet.

Will there be bathroom facilities?
Yes, porta-potties will be located near the start/finish line.
Will there be food and beverages available?
Yes! Visit our sponsorship page to view a list of vendors.
Are there other activities after the race?
Other activities for the event include dog paw painting canvases and face painting for the kids! Participants are also encouraged to hang out and visit the exhibit booths and food/beverage vendors.
Is the site wheelchair accessible?
While sidewalks and other areas of the park are paved and fully accessible, post-race activities will be set up in a grassy area.
How is the race timed?
The 5k races are timed using disposable chip technology. Your chip will be attached to your bib. The walk is not timed so participants do not receive a bib.
Who is eligible for awards?
Awards will be given to the top 3 males, females, males with dogs, and females with dogs as well as the top 3 fundraisers at 9:45am on race day.
Will there be a gear check?
No, we do not offer gear check. Please leave all valuables at home.
