Fees Change April 1st — No Foolin’!
We’re getting a great response from our community, with lots of people interested in signing up for WRW 2014. Many of you have already registered — thanks! — and taken advantage of our Early Bird discount on signup fees. For folks who haven’t signed up yet, this is just a friendly reminder that the Early Bird flies away soon! March 31st is the final day we’ll offer the discount, so be sure to sign up now! (Just click on the Run Signup icon on the right side of this page to register.)
If you’ve already signed up, have you already laced up? Now is a great time to start training for the 5k, especially if this is your first. There are plenty of great (and free) online resources to help you train. Here are a few to get you started (note: clicking any of the links below opens a new window and directs you to an external site that is not part of WRW or Friends of MADACC):
Pooch to 5k: a variation of the popular “couch to 5k” training programs that help inactive people train for their first run, this Australian-based site has great tips and a free training program for people who want to get Fido fit.

The Clock is Ticking for Early Birds! Plus: Running with Dogs and more!
If you haven’t signed up yet for Walk Run Wag 2014, remember that our Early Bird Discount runs only through March 31. That’s less than three weeks away! Register today online or by mail to take advantage of the event’s best pricing.
And, speaking of running, WRW is one of the few sports events in our area that you can enjoy with your dog. Most dogs are, in fact, terrific run buddies, and can motivate you to lace on the sneakers even when the weather is lousy or you’re pressed for time. Runner’s World compiled several articles on a special Running with Dogs hubpage: check it out to get inspired and pick up tips to help you and your dog make the most of a fun and fit activity.
Stopping by the St. Patrick’s Day parade through downtown Milwaukee at noon on Saturday, March 15th? Be sure to say hi to some MADACC alums and volunteers who will be marching in the parade and spreading the word about WRW 2014.

If you’re interested in registering for this year’s Walk Run Wag by mail, just download and print the paper version of our registration form:
All the directions are right on the form, as well as the mailing address, pricing, t-shirt sizing info and everything else you need to know. Be sure to sign and return the waiver that’s also part of the registration form — and don’t forget to include your check! We can’t process registrations received without a signed waiver and payment. If you want to go the paper registration route, do it SOON to take advantage of our Early Bird Discount, good through March 31st.

We had a great turnout this past Superbowl weekend at both the Great Lakes Pet Expo and Multisport Expo — a big thanks to all our volunteers and to everyone who stopped by our tables to say hello and sign up for Walk Run Wag 2014.

We’re looking forward to seeing familiar faces and making new friends at a pair of Walk Run Wag 2014 sign-up events this Superbowl weekend! We’ll have WRW organizers and past participants on hand to answer questions and yes, of course we will have some furry MADACC alums to show their appreciation for your support with tail wags and kisses.
And yes! In-person registration for WRW 2014 will be available!
That’s right…we’ll have paper sign-up forms on hand for anyone who prefers to register the old-fashioned way. Our special Early Bird discount applies both to online and in-person registrations through March 31.

Sure, there’s a chill in the air and everyone’s thinking about the holidays, but we’re already busy planning 2014’s Walk Run Wag for MADACC. We can’t wait to tell you about exciting upgrades for the event, which will return to Wauwatosa’s Hart Park on Saturday, June 21st. We’ll be rolling out registration and fundraising details this month, so check back early and often (and start stretching those hamstrings…June is just around the corner!).
